The Columbus East volleyball team put on an impressive performance last night (9/9) against the Shelbyville Golden Bears in the Orange Pit. The Olympians came out strong in the first set, jumping to a commanding 20-9 lead and securing a 25-21 win. They carried that momentum through the rest of the match, dominating the second set with a 25-11 victory and sealing the deal in the third set, 25-21. Here are some standout stats for the O’s: - **Krea Martin**: 21 assists, 7 aces, and 8 digs. Her hustle and leadership were on full display throughout the match. - **Kimberley Carothers**: 9 kills and 8 digs. Carothers is finding great timing with the setters and making her presence felt with powerful spikes. - **Lilah Klei**: 9 kills, 1 block, and 5 aces. Lilah’s swing is looking sharp, and it really showed last night. - **Lauren Smith**: Stepping in as libero due to injuries, she delivered 17 digs and 5 aces, showcasing her versatility. - **Anika Jenkins**: 2 blocks, adding solid defense at the net.
