Columbus East High School

The Columbus East volleyball team traveled to Clarksville, IN on Saturday morning to compete in the annual Providence Early-Bird Invitational. The invite featured nine teams, with several teams ranked in the top thirty in the state. The Olympians battled hard, but went 0-4 on the day. The Olympians fell to Brownstown Central 25-13, 25-18, Cathedral 25-18, 25-14, Fishers 25-18, 25-13, and Jasper 25-12, 25-20. O's stats: Lauren Smith - 24 digs and three aces, Kimberly Carothers 12 kills & 13 digs, Krea Martin 31 assists & 2 aces, Anika Jenkins 1 solo and 4 assist blocks & 2 aces, Chloe Gill 7 kills, Chandler Harris 3 block assists. The Olympians are back in action Monday, September 9th, as they host the Shelbyville Golden Bears in the Orange Pit. Match time: 6 p.m.
