The Columbus East Olympians showcased an impressive performance on Friday night at the Fire Pit / Stafford Field, overcoming the Seymour Owls with a confident 30-14 victory. After facing tough competition from the Owls last season, the Olympians were determined to make a statement, and they did just that. From the get-go, the Olympians demonstrated their offensive capabilities, scoring touchdowns on their first two possessions and amassing 23 points in the first half while limiting Seymour to just 7 points. Despite a strong push from Seymour in the 3rd quarter, narrowing the gap to 23-14, the Olympians responded with a crucial touchdown pass to extend their lead to 30-14. The defense held firm in the 4th quarter, shutting out the Owls and sealing the win. The Olympians excelled in balancing their offensive strategy, with the offensive line delivering solid run and pass protection throughout the game. Defensively, the team applied consistent pressure on Seymour's quarterback, creating numerous third-and-long situations for the Owls. This victory marks the Olympians' first win of the season, and more importantly, it sets them up with a 1-0 start in the Hoosier Hills Conference. The team is ready to build on this momentum as they prepare to face the Jennings County Panthers, another HHC opponent, this coming Friday.
