O's drop a close game to Southport to end the regular season

The Olympians traveled north to play against the Southport Cardinals Monday night. Unfortunately, for the O', they dropped a 6-4 decision to the Cardinals. The Olympians scored first with a solo homerun from senior Blake Borkhardt in the top of the 1st, but Southport scored in their bottom half of the 1st to make it a 1-1 ballgame. Southport scored 4 runs in the 3rd inning making it 5-1 for Southport, but the Olympians got back in the game scoring 3 runs in the top of the 5th, making the score 5-4 in favor of the Cardinals. The Cardinals added another run in the bottom of the 5th, making the score 6-4, which ending up being the final tally for the Southport victory. Pitching for the O's: Jackson Watkins: 2 innings, 2 hits, 1 earned run, 1 BB, 4 K's Eli Tindell: 1 inning, 4 hits, 3 earned runs, BB James Rotert: 3 innings: 2 hits, no earned runs, 1 BB, 3 K's Batting for the O's: Chase Niese: 1-3 Jackson Watkins: 1-3, double, BB, 2 RBI's AJ Tindell: 1-3 Marcus Wilkinson: 2-3, 1 RBI Blake Borkhardt: 1-3, HR, RBI Evan Huckaby: BB Evan Balzer: 1-3, double Sectional Time: Tonight's Southport game marked the end of the regular season for the Olympians. Now the Olympians set their sights on the 2024 IHSAA Baseball Sectional.
