The Olympians traveled north to play against the Southport Cardinals Monday night. Unfortunately, for the O', they dropped a 6-4 decision to the Cardinals. The Olympians scored first with a solo homerun from senior Blake Borkhardt in the top of the 1st, but Southport scored in their bottom half of the 1st to make it a 1-1 ballgame. Southport scored 4 runs in the 3rd inning making it 5-1 for Southport, but the Olympians got back in the game scoring 3 runs in the top of the 5th, making the score 5-4 in favor of the Cardinals. The Cardinals added another run in the bottom of the 5th, making the score 6-4, which ending up being the final tally for the Southport victory. Now the Olympians set their sights on the 2024 IHSAA Baseball Sectional.
