O's Baseball - Late Come Back Win for the Olympians!

After Monday nights loss, the O's were looking to put together a more consistent ball game when they traveled to Bloomington, IN Wednesday night to face the Bloomington North Cougars. The O's came out hot early, swinging the bat well and scoring 4 runs in the top of the first, but then allowed B. North to score four runs in the bottom of the first. B. North added a run in the 2nd inning, taking the lead 5-4, but the O's answered with two runs in the top of the 3rd to go ahead briefly 6-5. The Cougars added a run to tie the game in the bottom of the 3rd, tying the game again 6-6. Bloomington North added another run in the 4th inning to take the 7-6 lead and held that lead until the Olympians tied the game with a run in the top of the 6th and adding two runs in the top of the 7th to take the 9-7 lead and then shutdown the Cougars in the bottom of the 7th to win game, 9-7 over Bloomington North. Senior Chase Niese came up big in the top of the 7th for the Olympians, delivering a two-run single to give the O's the lead 9-7. A.J. Tindell was 3-4, adding two RBI's and triple on the evening and catcher, Logan Warren, was 2-4 with a double and a RBI. Pitching for the O's: JD Rotert: 4 innings, 5 hits, 4 earned runs, 2 walks, and 1 K on 74 pitches. Jackson Watkins: 3 innings, 1 hit, no runs, 3 walks, 3 K's on 64 pitches. Batting for the O's: Chase Niese: 2-5, 2 RBI's, 2 walks, 2 stolen bases Jackson Watkins: Walk, 1 stolen base AJ Tindell: 3-4, 2 RBI's, Triple Jace Jones: 2-4, HBP Blake Borkhardt: 1-4, double, 2 walks, stolen base Eli Tindell: 1-4, RBI Evan Balzer: 1-4, RBI Logan Warren: 2-4, double, RBI Bige Asher: Walk The O's did commit 6 errors on the evening and stranded 23 batters- two things that continue to plague the O's! The O's are on the road again, Friday, May 17th, as they make the short drive north to face the Royals of Roncalli High School.
