The Olympians made their annual trip to Jasper, Indiana to play in the Jasper High School Baseball Invitational. The O's went 1-1 for the day, losing to the host team 11-1, but rebounded in game two, picking up an exciting 9-8 win over the Martinsville Artesians and a 3rd place finish for the day. In game one, the Olympians jumped out to an early 1-0 lead over Jasper, but a disastrous bottom half of the 3rd for the Olympians allowed Jasper to score 10 runs which gave all the runs Jasper needed to claim the 11-1 victory over the Olympians. The Olympians threw 3 pitchers in game one - J.D. Rotert, Jace Jones, and Eli Tindell. Batting: The O's managed to squeeze out 5 hits on the day and stranded 6 runners on base. Chase Niese: 1-3, 2 SB's Jackson Watkins: 1-3 AJ Tindell: 1-2 Blake Borkhardt: 1-3, double, RBI Logan Warren: 1-2 <<<<<>>>>> In game two, the Olympians allowed Martinsville to jump out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning and were down 8-3 going into the bottom of the 6th before the Olympians exploded for 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to tie game, holding the Artesians in the top of the 7th and getting the walk-off run in the bottom of the 7th to win 9-8 and finish in 3rd place in the Jasper Invite. Pitching for the O's: Senior Blake Borhardt pitched 3.1 innings giving up 7 hits, 6 runs, and 2 BB.
