Olympian Softball drops double-header to Franklin Community

The Columbus East softball team hosted the Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs on Saturday morning dropping both games, 3-1 and 8-3. In game one, the O's held their own, giving up 2 runs in the top of the 3rd inning, not before the O's picked a run in the bottom of the 5th, making the score 2-1 going into the 7th inning. Unfortunately, Franklin picked up an insurance in the top of the 7th and held on for the 3-1 win. Hermione Robinson had another solid performance on the mound, going the distance, giving up only 1 earned run, giving up 7 hits, no walks, and striking out 8 batters. Batting for the O's- The O's picked up 7 hits, but stranded 7 runners on base. Lola Watkins: 2-4 S. Sullivan: 2-4, double B. Fish: 2-4, RBI H. Robinson: 1-3 D. Logan: BB M. Hampton: BB In game two, the Olympians committed 5 errors and could only muster 4 hits, dropping game two 8-3. Baleigh Fish pitched a complete game, giving up nine hits and only allowing three earned runs.
