Olympian Baseball: O's lose lead late, fall to Silver Creek

The Olympians maintained a lead of 4-3 after the 5th inning, and their momentum soared as they scored 3 additional runs in the top of the 6th, advancing the score to 7-3 in their favor. Silver Creek responded with 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th and adding 2 more in the 7th, allowing the Dragons to win 8-7. It marked the third consecutive game for the Olympians decided by just one run. At the plate, Senior Blake Borkhardt shone brightly, delivering a stellar performance by going 2 for 3 with a homerun, double, and an impressive 5 RBI's. Jackson Watkins and Marcus Wilkinson also displayed a hot bat, each going 2-4 on the night. Chase Niese, AJ Tindell, and Logan Warren contributed to the offensive effort, each going 1-4, resulting in a total of nine Olympian hits. Notably, Chase Niese and Jackson Watkins showcased their speed with 2 stolen bases each. On the pitching front, the Olympians demonstrated their depth and versatility. Jackson Watkins pitched 2 innings, allowing only 1 earned run, along with 3 walks, 1 strikeout, and 3 hits. Kaden Arnholt and AJ Tindell each pitched 2/3 of an inning, while Jace Jones contributed 1/3 of an inning. Stone Meyers showcased his talent with 3 innings pitched, allowing just 1 earned run, 5 hits, 1 walk, and 2 strikeouts. Looking ahead, the Olympians are geared up for their next challenge on Thursday, April 18th, as they travel to Franklin Community H.S. First pitch scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
