The Olympians showcased a formidable pitching performance against Greensburg, holding them at bay for 5 1/3 innings. Freshman pitcher JD Rotert spearheaded this dominance until the 5th inning, when two consecutive walks prompted his substitution by sophomore pitcher Kaden Arnholt. Despite a tense moment with loaded bases, Arnholt managed to limit the damage to just one run, preserving the Olympians' lead. Throughout the game, Greensburg repeatedly threatened by loading the bases in the 6th, and 7th innings. However, Arnholt's composure ensured that they only managed to score once in the 7th inning, clinching a victory for the Olympians. Rotert and Arnholt combined forces to stifle the Pirates, allowing only four hits and tallying seven strikeouts, conceding just two runs throughout the game. The turning point came in the 5th inning when the Olympians capitalized on a series of defensive mishaps by Greensburg. Senior Evan Balzer's leadoff single set the stage for the Olympians to exploit errors, walks, and wild pitches, culminating in a three-run surge. These runs proved to be decisive, securing the 3-2 victory for the O's. Notable offensive contributions included a double by senior Jace Jones. Next up, the Olympians will face off against Edgewood H.S. tonight, Monday, April 15th, with the first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.
