Head Coach Josh Gonsior Resigns from the Columbus East Boy's Soccer Program

Columbus East Varsity Soccer Coach, Josh Gonsior, Announces Resignation Columbus, IN – February 21, 2024 – After 15 years of dedicated service, Coach Josh Gonsior has announced his resignation as the Columbus East Men’s Soccer Varsity Head Coach. In a heartfelt email to the team and administration, Coach Gonsior expressed a mix of emotions as he reflected on his coaching journey. "With a great mix of emotions, I am resigning my position as Columbus East Men’s Soccer Varsity Head Coach," wrote Coach Gonsior. "After a long period of soul searching, I’ve made the decision that I believe is right for me at this time." Throughout his tenure, Coach Gonsior has been instrumental in shaping the soccer program at Columbus East and fostering a passion for the sport within the community. His dedication to his players and commitment to the growth of the program have left an indelible mark on the school and its athletic legacy. Speaking about his decision, Coach Gonsior cited a desire to transition to the next phase of his life and spend more time with his family. "Part of my decision to step back is that I have a lot of pokers in a lot of different fires and I can tell that I am spreading myself thin," he shared. "The time feels right to transition to the next phase of my life." Despite stepping down from his coaching role, Coach Gonsior expressed his ongoing commitment to the Columbus East community. He plans to continue supporting the school and athletic program in various capacities, including developing an alumni network for the soccer program.
