Columbus East High School

The Columbus East gymnastics team hosted the Bloomington South Panthers and the Edgewood Mustangs last night in the Orange Pit. The Olympians scored 92.05 vs. 97.65 for Edgewood, and 102.85 for Bloomington South. Freshman Bethany Lewis was able to win three of the four events and captured the all-around title amongst the three teams. Lewis had first places scores on the beam, 9.45(PR), 9.0 on the vault, and 9.35 floor. She placed third on the bars with an 8.2. Totaling a personal best 36.0 to capture the all-around. The O's Shelby Kendrick was able to capture an 8.3 on the vault and 8.2 for the floor exercise. The Olympians have two more meets(2/14 vs. Owen Valley) & (2/19 @ Seymour), before IHSAA Sectionals begin February 23rd @ Franklin Central.
