The Columbus East Girls basketball team showcased their resilience against the Whiteland Warriors, with a final score of 50-39 in favor of Whiteland in the semi-final game of the 2024 IHSAA Sectional. Throughout the entire game, the Olympians demonstrated great team play, maintaining the lead in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters, and even narrowing the gap to just two points midway through the 4th quarter. Despite a late 10-1 scoring surge by Whiteland, the Olympians held their own, leaving a lasting impression on the court. While the outcome wasn't the ideal conclusion to the season, the Columbus East Girls basketball team always played with great determination and hustle, setting a high standard for future classes of O's to emulate. A special thank you goes out to Seniors Victoria Cuhadar, Caroline Frost, Jenna Guse, Madelyn Poe, Savanna Sullivan, and Messiah Trapp for their outstanding contributions during the season and for being exemplary ambassadors of Columbus East Olympian Girls Basketball.
