Columbus East Olympians Open 2024 Gymnastics Season with Determined Performance

The Columbus East Olympian gymnastic team kicked off their 2024 season against the Westfield Shamrocks this past Saturday at the Orange Pit. Despite a strong effort, the Olympians faced a tough challenge, falling to the Rocks with a score of 101.6 to 93.5. The O's Bethany Lewis emerged as the standout performer, claiming the all-around title with a score of 34.75. Lewis showcased her versatility, securing victories in the vault (9.2), beam (9.0), and floor (8.95). Additionally, she grabbed third place on the bars with a score of 7.9. Shelby Kendrick made a notable contribution, finishing fourth in the all-around with a score of 31.85. Kendrick's standout performance was on the bars, where she secured a second-place finish with a score of 7.85. While the team may have faced a tough opponent, individual accomplishments highlight the Olympians' potential for a strong season ahead.
