The Columbus East girls' basketball, trailing at one point in the game 34-17, made a furious comeback in the 4th quarter, cutting the lead to a four-point deficit, but couldn't close the gap, falling to North Decatur 45-36. The Olympians, coming off last Thursday's emotional win against the cross-town rivals, just couldn't get things going in the first three quarters. In the 4th, the O's went full court pressure and dropped back into tight man to man defense, which generated some quick turnovers and points for the O's. The O's climbed to within 4 points, but the Chargers were able to get a couple of buckets and held the ball for a long period of time, salting away any chance of an Olympian comeback. Scoring by quarter: CEHS: 10, 4, 9, 13 ND: 9, 11, 14, 11 Stats: Jenna Guse: 14 points, 1 assist, 2 steals, 7 rebounds Caroline Frost: 7 points, 4 steals, 6 rebounds Kenzie Cheek: 5 points Victoria Chudar: 4 points, 2 assists, 1 rebound Messiah Trapp: 1 assist, 1 steal, 5 rebounds Madelyn Poe: 3 points, 2 assists, 1 steal, 3 rebounds
