Columbus East High School

The Columbus East boys' swim team kicked off their season with an impressive 128-43 victory against Shelbyville on Thursday. The East boys were able to win all 12 events. Cavan Stilson secured the top spot in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1 minute and 54.88 seconds, and he also excelled in the 100 freestyle, finishing in 49.78 seconds. Judah Nickoll showcased his skills in the 50 freestyle (22.87) and 100 backstroke (57.55), while Misha Machavariani excelled in the 100 butterfly (53.62) and 100 breaststroke (1:04.48), contributing significantly to the Olympians' success. Other notable individual winners for the boys included Todd Hundley in the 200 IM (2:09.92), Gavin Day in the diving competition with a score of 243.45, and Jesse Isaacs in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6 minutes and 18.64 seconds. The team also demonstrated exceptional teamwork, securing victories in the 200 medley relay (1:40.97), 200 freestyle relay (1:40.38), and 400 freestyle relay (3:29.34). Great job H2O's!!!
