Columbus East High School

Columbus, IN, November 16th, 2023 – After 12 years of dedicated service, Coach Matt Malinsky, head coach of both the boys and girls tennis teams at Columbus East High School, has tendered his resignation. In a heartfelt letter, Coach Malinsky expressed gratitude for the privilege of coaching at his alma mater but cited the need to step away to prioritize personal and family commitments. Under Coach Malinsky's leadership, the tennis program achieved significant milestones, including the first Conference championship in 30 years for the girls' team and state individual finalist berths in girls doubles in 2017 and 2018. Coach Malinsky thanked the school administration for their support and guidance, expressing confidence in the future of Columbus East athletics. The search for a new head coach will begin promptly.
