Greentown, Ind. — The Columbus Valkyries club wrestling team put an emphatic exclamation point on their off-season campaign, capturing three individual titles and taking home the overall team championship out of 76 teams represented at the third annual Queens Crown tournament. Featuring talent from the Columbus East Olympian girls wrestling program alongside regional standouts, the Valkyries made the trek north to compete in a field that has expanded to well over 200 wrestlers. While the Valkyries produced a single individual champion in each of the last two seasons, this year's squad tripled that total while dominating the team standings. * Three Queens Crowned * Leading the charge for the Valkyries were three undefeated tournament champions: O's Kaydence Spradlin delivered a standout performance, battling past two nationally ranked opponents during a 4-0 run to earn her title. O's Annie Redman secured her second consecutive tournament title in spectacular fashion, going 3-0 to claim back-to-back crowns in two years. Maya Bullock** (Madison) put together a flawless 4-0 record on the day to capture her first Queens Crown title. Podium Depth Powers Team Championship The Valkyries' overall depth proved decisive across the field, with several wrestlers making deep bracket runs to secure high podium finishes: Gloria Cloud nearly added a fourth title for the squad, finishing as the tournament runner-up with a 3-1 record. Lexi Burns fought through a tough bracket to claim 3rd place, going 4-1 on the day. Kyleigh Traylor made an impact in her Queens Crown debut, earning 4th place with a 2-2 mark. Columbus East Olympians Marlee Veon and Elle Bliton also logged valuable mat time in their first bids for a crown, adding crucial experience to the team's off-season run. Building a Winning Foundation When the final points were calculated across all 76 competing programs, the Valkyries emerged at the top of the leaderboards. "Just found out out of 76 teams represented we won the whole darn thing!" head coach Ty Olds shared. "It was a great day for the girls," Coach Olds added. "They faced some tough competition and finished their seasons with some great experience to lead into the season. We have a lot to be proud of and a great foundation to build on." With three individual crowns, multiple podium finishes, and an overall team title, the Valkyries and their Columbus East contingent carry tremendous momentum into the upcoming high school season.
