Columbus East High School

INDIANAPOLIS — The Columbus East Olympian volleyball team closed out their regular season on the road Thursday night, falling in three sets to #16 in the state, Roncalli H.S. 25 -13, 25-17, and 25-19. East relied on a cohesive, well-rounded team effort, driven by Jillian Chapple (10 assists) and Kenlee Gault (six assists), who combined to keep the attack fluid. That playmaking paid off up front, where Addy Dean and Bailey Rohde brought heavy firepower to the net with six kills apiece, backed by another four kills from Ava Tartt. Defensively, Kadence Miller commanded the backcourt with a team-high nine digs, while Tartt and Shelby Williams kept rallies alive with six digs each. Williams and Chapple each dropped a serving ace. With the regular season officially in the books, the Olympians now have a few valuable days to rest, regroup, and fine-tune their play ahead of tournament action. Up next, Columbus East will enjoy home-court advantage as they host the upcoming IHSAA Sectional. The O's kick off their postseason run on Saturday, October 17th at 10:00 a.m. against the East Central Trojans. We welcome Orange Nation to pack the Orange Pit, bring the energy, and cheer on the O's as they begin their tournament quest!
