COLUMBUS, November 15th, 2023 - Head Coach Ellyn McIntosh formally announced her resignation after a successful tenure coaching the Columbus East Volleyball Program. In a letter addressed to Athletic Director David Miller, McIntosh expressed gratitude for the honor of coaching at such a prestigious program. "It is with a heavy heart that I submit my formal resignation as the Head Coach of the Columbus East Volleyball Program," McIntosh stated in her letter. "Coaching at this esteemed institution has been a dream come true for me, and I am truly honored to have had the opportunity to contribute to the program that gave so much to me." McIntosh, known for her dedication and commitment to the team, explained that the decision was not made lightly. "In my current season of life, I feel like I am unable to put into the program the time and effort it deserves," she wrote. The departing coach took the opportunity to extend her gratitude to the entire Columbus East Athletics community. "I would like to thank you for the many opportunities that Columbus East Athletics has given me. I know the program would not have had the success it did without your help and dedication." As McIntosh bids farewell to the Columbus East Volleyball Program, she expressed her well wishes for the team's future. "I wish you and the team all the best in the future and look forward to seeing where the program goes!" Columbus East Athletic Director David Miller understands her decision. “I understand how difficult of a decision this was for Coach McIntosh. Although I am saddened to lose her as a coach, she made the best decision for her and her family. I thanked Coach McIntosh for her leadership of the program and the influence she has had on the student-athletes at Columbus East High School.” Columbus East Athletics and the entire community extend their appreciation to Coach McIntosh for her dedication and contribution to the Columbus East Volleyball Program. The search for a new head coach will commence promptly, and the athletic department is committed to ensuring a smooth transition for the team.
