Olympians Battle Hard in Four-Set Saturday Road Clash at Bloomington North

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The Columbus East girls volleyball team displayed plenty of fight on the road Saturday morning, securing the third set before host Bloomington North regrouped to seal a 3-1 victory (25-20, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20). Despite the setback, the Olympians saw strong individual outings across the court. Addy Dean spearheaded the East attack, delivering a standout double-double performance with a team-leading 23 kills and 15 digs. Setter Jillian Chapple orchestrated the offense smoothly, posting 19 assists. East's net defense proved formidable throughout the match. Emma Armstrong was a wall at the net, tallying seven blocks alongside four kills. Front-row teammates Cadence Smith and Bailey Rohde supplied additional defense, recording four blocks apiece. The back row and service line kept the pressure on the Cougars. Ava Tartt put together a solid all-around effort, pounding six kills to go with 14 digs. Kadence Miller gathered nine digs and matched Kenlee Gault with two service aces. Gault also contributed six assists to round out the playmaking. After dropping the opening two sets 25-20 and 25-19, Columbus East turned the tide in the third with sharp blocking and defensive coverage to pull out a 25-21 set win. Bloomington North managed to regain momentum in the fourth frame, closing out the match 25-20 to claim the Saturday morning contest.
