The Columbus East boys soccer team wrapped up its regular season Monday night with a challenging matchup against top-ranked Bloomington South at the BCSC Soccer Complex. Facing Class 3A’s No. 1 team, the Olympians dropped a 5-0 decision in their final match before postseason play. Bloomington South set a fast pace early, scoring three goals in the opening 20 minutes of the match. The Panthers added another score in the 38th minute, putting East down 4-0 at the halftime break. Columbus East settled in defensively during the second half, adjusting its setup and limiting Bloomington South's scoring opportunities. The Panthers were held to a single second-half goal, which came in the 68th minute. Goalkeeper Ryder Meek stayed busy in the net for East, recording 14 saves on the night. Overall, Bloomington South finished with a 32-5 advantage in total shots and a 19-3 edge in shots on goal. The Olympians must now reset as they prepare for tournament action in next week's East Central Sectional. The Olympians meet the Whiteland Warriors on Wednesday, October 7th with a 8 p.m. approx. start time. All Sectional games will be played at East Central High School. The championship game is Sat, October 10, 2026 @ 7:00 PM. Good luck Olympians!
