FLOYDS KNOBS, IN — The Columbus East Olympian boys tennis team traveled to Floyds Knobs on Friday evening to face the Floyd Central Highlanders in the third place match of the Hoosier Hills Conference tournament. The Olympians fought hard but were ultimately swept in the matchup, taking a 5-0 loss. In singles play, Columbus East’s Landon Reddleman battled back in a highly competitive second set at No. 1 singles, eventually falling 6-1, 7-5 to Blake Schuler-Scanlon. At the No. 2 singles spot, Kai Bergman dropped the opening set 6-0 to Ethan Noble before being forced to retire from the match. Ritvik Prithiviraj represented the Olympians at No. 3 singles, dropping his match to Sergio Periago 6-0, 6-1. On the doubles side, the Columbus East No. 1 team of Trevor Ernst and Micah Wettschurack faced Kelton Granholm and Hudson Smith, coming up short by a score of 6-1, 6-2. The Olympians' No. 2 doubles pairing of Carson Hartsook and Drew Lawson put up a strong effort in their second set but ultimately fell to Gage Christmas and Joel Irwin, 6-1, 6-3.
