The Columbus East Olympian girls volleyball team competes in the Artesian Volleyball Classic tomorrow, Saturday, September 26, 2026, hosted at Martinsville High School. EVENT OVERVIEW & VENUE: Location: Martinsville High School Date: Saturday, September 26, 2026 Admission: $8.00 all-day pass Gym Assignments: Pool A plays in the Main Gym, and Pool B plays in the Aux Gym COLUMBUS EAST MATCH & TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE: Columbus East is competing in Pool A in the Main Gym. Matches are played on a rolling schedule immediately following the preceding match, making posted times after 9:00 AM tentative. 9:00 AM: Martinsville vs. Columbus East Location: Main Gym (Pool A) Notes: 15-minute warm-up 10:15 AM: Columbus East vs. North Decatur Location: Main Gym (Pool A) Notes: 5-minute court warm-up Following: Martinsville vs. North Decatur Location: Main Gym (Pool A) Notes: Final Pool A match Following: #2 Pool A vs. #2 Pool B Location: TBD Notes: Playoff Placement Match Following: #3 Pool A vs. #3 Pool B Location: TBD Notes: Playoff Placement Match Following: #1 Pool A vs. #1 Pool B Location: TBD Notes: Championship Match (Pool B teams playing in the Aux Gym consist of Bloomington North, North Central, and Avon.) TOURNAMENT MATCH FORMAT & RULES Scoring Format: Matches consist of the best 2 out of 3 sets to 25 points with no cap. If a third set is required, it will be played to 15 points. Warm-Up Protocols: Each team receives a 15-minute warm-up before their first match of the day and 5 minutes of on-court warm-up for each subsequent match. Teams may also warm up in the upstairs areas of the main gym. Team Responsibilities: The first school listed in a matchup is the home team and provides the official scorekeeper. The second school listed provides the libero tracker. Host Support: Martinsville High School provides line judges and clock keepers for all matches. Pool Play Tiebreakers: Head-to-head match winner Team with the fewest set/game losses Team with the highest point differential Coin toss FAN & PLAYER LOGISTICS Arrive Dressed: Locker room space at the high school is limited, so players should arrive fully dressed in uniform. Concessions & Seating: Concessions will be available on-site for spectators. Team tables are designated in the upstairs area of the main gym. Coaches & Officials: A dedicated hospitality room will be provided for coaches and officials.
