The Columbus East Olympians proudly saw six of their players named to the 2023 Hoosier Hills Boys All-Conference soccer team. This year, the Olympians secured the 3rd position in the conference with a commendable 4-2 record, a marked improvement from their 2022 campaign which ended at 2-2-2. First Team Hoosier Hill All-Conference: Martin Simon Rodriguez – A junior, Rodriguez highlighted exceptional performance by scoring 19 goals, leading the Olympians throughout the season. Justin Sylva – Sylva, a senior and team captain, demonstrated prowess from the center back position, notching one goal and four assists while providing solid defense. Justin also earned first-team All-HHC honors in 2022. Gui Silva Coelho – Coelho, a senior and team captain, displayed strong defensive midfield skills, contributing with one goal and six assists. Second Team Hoosier Hills All-Conference: Boston Ely – Ely, a junior and team captain, displayed versatility playing as midfield/forward, contributing significantly with four goals and seven assists. Eduardo Aranda Michel – Michel, a sophomore and center back, exhibited talent by scoring two goals, earning him a spot in the second team, a feat he had also achieved in 2022. Emilio Quintero Aguirre – Aguirre, a sophomore and defensive midfielder, showcased his playmaking abilities with an impressive ten assists.
