The Columbus East boys tennis team dropped a 3-1 match to visiting Batesville on Thursday at the Olympians Tennis Complex after rain forced an early conclusion. The Olympians also celebrated Senior Night - Congrats Seniors! Sophomore Kai Bergman provided the highlight for East, earning the team's lone victory with a straight-set 7-5, 6-3 win over Carson Meyer at #2 singles. At #3 singles, freshman Ritvik Prithiviraj was locked in a close contest with Max Walter, tied 4-4 in the deciding third set (6-4, 2-6, 4-4), when rain halted play for the evening. In other action: #1 Singles: Sophomore Landon Reddleman fell 3-6, 4-6 to Jevan Smith. #1 Doubles: Seniors Trevor Ernst and Micah Wettschurack took the opening set but fell 6-4, 4-6, 2-6 to Will Patterson and Wes Peters. #2 Doubles: Junior Carson Hartsook and freshman Drew Lawson lost 4-6, 2-6 to Eli Doll and Coleman West.
