BEDFORD, Ind. — The Columbus East Olympian boys soccer team put on an offensive clinic Tuesday evening on the road, rolling past the Bedford North Lawrence Stars 7-1 to claim their first Hoosier Hills Conference (HHC) victory of the season. From the opening whistle, the Olympians established tempo and dictated possession, keeping BNL on its heels with fluid passing and constant pressure. Columbus East controlled the pitch from start to finish, outshooting the Stars by a commanding 22-6 margin. The attack was as balanced as it was relentless, featuring six different goal scorers. Blake Plummer led the scoring surge with a brace, finding the back of the net twice on the night. Miguel Ferrer, Ethan Glick, Ronan Maier, Jordan Hofelich, and Nicolas Moran each added goals to round out the 7-goal performance. Columbus East’s execution in the final third was driven by unselfish playmaking. Ryder Meek spearheaded the attack with a hat-trick of assists, setting up three Olympian scores, while Dervernson Zephirin and Nicolas Moran also notched assists on crisp team buildup. Defensively, goalkeeper Ryder anchored the backline, turning away 5 saves to limit the Stars to a single tally. The runaway lead gave Head Coach Nathan Cline the opportunity to flex the roster's depth and get valuable conference minutes for a wide lineup of substitutes. "We moved the ball well and we got in a lot of subs," said Coach Cline after the match, praising the team's balance and unselfish distribution.
