CLARKSVILLE — The Columbus East girls volleyball team finished 1-3 at Saturday's Providence Invitational, bringing their season record to 7-8. The Olympians started the tournament against Class 3A No. 1 Providence, keeping the first set competitive before falling 25-21, 25-15. In their second match, East lost to Jasper 25-10, 25-9. East responded in match three with a solid performance against Jeffersonville, earning a 25-22, 25-8 victory. The Olympians finished the day fighting through a close opening set against Brownstown Central before dropping the match 26-24, 25-12. The team showed consistent hustle across all four matches, led by several notable individual efforts: Addy Dean led the attack with 34 kills and four blocks. Ava Tartt contributed across the board with 12 kills, 22 digs, and eight aces. Cadence Smith added nine kills. Setters Jillian Chapple (27 assists, three blocks) and Kenlee Gault (22 assists) managed the offense. Kadence Miller anchored the defense with 24 digs, backed up by Faith Smith with 20 digs. Emma Armstrong recorded four blocks and four aces, while Shelby Williams chipped in four aces.
