The Lady O's volleyball team hosted their own invitational on Saturday, inviting 7 teams who were either ranked or had outstanding records for the regular season. The Olympians competed well the entire day, but finished 1-3, taking home a 7th place finish. The Olympians started the day against 3A #6 ranked Silver Creek, going the distance with the Dragons in a back and forth affair, eventually losing in three sets 24-26, 26-24, and 15-11. The Olympians then lost to Evansville North 26-24 & 25-20, and lost another tight match to Jasper 26-25 & 25-18. In their last match of the day, the Olympians came out flat in the opening set, losing 22-25, but rallied to win the next two sets 25-14 & 15-11 against Jeffersonville to end the day on a winning note. The Olympians finished the regular season on Saturday and now turn their attention to tourney play, as the Olympians get ready to try their chances in the 2023 IHSAA State Volleyball tournament. The O's received a first round bye and will play the winner of the East Central vs. Franklin Community match in the semi-final round of the IHSAA Sectional at Franklin Community High School. Match is set to begin at 11 a.m. Tickets are $7 per session or $15 for all sessions.
