SEYMOUR, IN — The Columbus East girls volleyball team pushed Hoosier Hills Conference opponent Seymour to the brink in two tight frames on Tuesday evening, ultimately dropping a 3-0 decision (25-23, 25-13, 26-24) on the road. The O's mounted strong battles in both the opening and closing sets, coming within two points in the first and forcing extra points in the third before the Owls secured the final sweep. Individual Stat Leaders Kills: Addy Dean led the Columbus East attack with 12 kills, while Emma Armstrong and Cadence Smith each contributed six kills. Assists: Jillian Chapple directed the offense with nine assists, while Kenlee Gault posted three assists. Digs: Kadence Miller anchored the back row with nine digs, supported by Addy Dean with six digs and Ava Tartt with five digs. Blocks & Serving: Emma Armstrong notched three blocks at the net, Jillian Chapple added two blocks, and Ava Tartt served up two aces.
