On a picture-perfect, sunny 80-degree evening at Greenbelt Golf Course, the Columbus East girls' golf team put together a gritty team effort to earn a hard-fought five-stroke home victory over the visiting Madison Cubs, 205-210. Leading the charge for the Olympians was Abby King, who captured match medalist honors with a team-low round of 45 (+10 on the front nine). King maintained composure across all nine holes, anchoring the top of the lineup for Columbus East. Right behind her was Calleigh Gill, who delivered a crucial performance with a round of 46, providing the Olympians with a formidable 1-2 combination at the top of the card. The winning 205 team total was completed by matching scores of 57 from Emma Gill and Sofia Perez, both making key contributions down the stretch to keep Columbus East ahead. Brynn Wendel added a 59 in a solid effort, while Caroline Grider recorded a DNF.
