COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Columbus East boys tennis team hosted cross-town rival Columbus North at the CEHS Tennis Complex, falling 5-0 in varsity play. Despite the sweep, the Olympians brought competitive energy to every court, working through long rallies and continuing to build varsity experience across the lineup. Sophomore Kai Bergman highlighted the singles play at the No. 2 spot. After a tough opening set, Bergman found his rhythm in the second, pushing his opponent in a competitive 1-6, 4-6 contest. In doubles action, the No. 1 duo of senior Trevor Ernst and freshman Ritvik Prithiviraj showed solid chemistry, claiming multiple games in both sets of a 2-6, 2-6 match. Match Breakdown No. 1 Singles: Landon Reddleman (0-6, 1-6) No. 2 Singles: Kai Bergman (1-6, 4-6) No. 3 Singles: Micah Wettschurack (1-6, 2-6) No. 1 Doubles: Trevor Ernst & Ritvik Prithiviraj (2-6, 2-6) No. 2 Doubles: Carson Hartsook & Drew Lawson (1-6, 1-6) At No. 1 singles, sophomore Landon Reddleman stayed active throughout his match, picking up a game in the second set of a 0-6, 1-6 finish. Senior Micah Wettschurack dropped a 1-6, 2-6 result at No. 3 singles, while junior Carson Hartsook and freshman Drew Lawson rounded out the lineup at No. 2 doubles with a 1-6, 1-6 decision. The Olympians will take the court time and competitive reps from this rivalry matchup as momentum for their remaining schedule.
