Columbus East High School

Back in the middle of September, the Olympians handed Franklin Community H.S. a convincing 4-1 loss during the regular season. During that match, East's Martin Simon Rodriguez dominated the match, scoring all 4 goals for the Olympians. Fast forward a few weeks later - It was obvious Franklin learned their lesson, holding Rodriguez and the rest of the Olympians scoreless to post a 1-0 victory in the first round of the 2023 IHSAA Sectional at the BCSC Soccer Complex. The Olympians outshot the Grizzly Cubs in the first half 4-1, but Franklin increased their intensity outshooting the O's 11-8 for the remainder of the match. Franklin's Ethan Elsner scored on a free kick late in the 2nd half, sealing the deal for the Grizzly Cubs. Columbus East finished the season with 5 wins, 7 losses, and 3 ties for the season.
