Columbus East High School

After seeing their original season opener canceled last Saturday, the Columbus East boys cross-country team was itching to race. The O’s finally got their chance Wednesday night at the Brown County Challenge Invite, kicking off the year with an impressive 3rd-place overall team finish. The meet featured a Hokum Karem format, where pairs of runners split a 5k distance by taking turns running 2.5k legs. East showed off great depth and solid pacing straight out of the gate: Liam Wiltsey & Daxton Wolf led the team, finishing 11th overall with a time of 18:06. Cullen Fullerton & Henry Meredith were right on their heels, taking 13th overall at 18:08. With only two seconds separating the top two duos, the Olympians put together a strong team effort to open the season. The O's will look to build on this momentum as they head into their next meets.
