2026 IHSAA Boys Track & Field State Finals 📅 Meet Overview & Key Schedule > Location: North Central High School Track Complex, 1801 East 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46240. > Keaton Lawson's Event (Boys High Jump): Saturday, June 6th at 4:00 p.m.. The event will begin immediately after the conclusion of the Long Jump. > Practice Sessions: * Thursday, June 4th from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (All gates lock at 7:40 p.m.) . > Friday, June 5th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Competition areas close strictly at 12:30 p.m.) . > Note: Saturday morning's practice window is reserved strictly for Unified athletes. 1. Athlete Guide (For Keaton) > Team Registration & Arrival: Boys Team Registration takes place on Saturday, June 6th from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Drop-off is located at the southwest corner of the track complex via the Westfield Road entrance. > Event Check-In: Keaton must report to the Clerk of the Course on the first call for the High Jump. The Clerk is located outside the building at the south end of the stadium. He must be accompanied by a coach or school-designated representative. > Gear & Spike Restrictions: Only 1/4” pyramid "cone shape" spikes are permitted for both practices and competition. Needle spikes, hex head spikes, and Christmas tree spike pins are strictly prohibited. > High Jump Specific Rules: * Check marks are strictly limited to two (2) per contestant. * No markings of any kind are permitted within 4 feet of the crossbar. * Tape may be used for marks but must be entirely removed and thrown away when finished. Chalk and thumbtacks are completely banned on the track surface. If Keaton passes three (3) consecutive heights, he is permitted a run-through without the bar. Crossbars will not be available during the Thursday/Friday practice sessions. * High jump pits must be covered at the end of practice sessions. Athletes are not permitted to practice jumping unless their event coach is actively present and supervising. > Electronics Ban: Headphones and electronic devices are strictly banned on the track or within the event area at all times. Violating this safety rule will result in being asked to leave the track. > Post-Elimination: Once eliminated from competition, the athlete and coach must promptly leave the field event area. > Warm-up/Cool-down: The designated warm-up areas are the baseball field (east of the stadium) and the practice field (southeast of the complex). Barricades must not be crossed. 2. Parent & Coach Guide > Admission Packets & Wristbands: School coaches and managers will receive their entry packets at pickup, which include three (3) non-transferable wristbands. Because Columbus East has a field event competitor, an additional specific wristband will be provided to grant access to the infield Coach's Box. > Coaches’ Box Rules: There is a designated high jump coaches' box on the infield. Only one (1) coach is permitted in the box during Keaton's flight. The coach must leave the field area as soon as Keaton finishes competing. No tip-n-tilt bleachers are provided in the infield coaches' area. > Restricted Areas for Parents: Parents and non-competing student-athletes are completely restricted from entering the warm-up fields, track, or competition infield. > Team Camps: If setting up a freestanding tent for the team, it must be located in the grassy area south of the shot put or on the west side of the baseball field. No stakes may be used to secure tents. Tents are not allowed on Thursday's practice day , and personal shade tents are restricted to designated turf areas (not on hard surfaces). > Awards: The top 9 places in the High Jump will earn state medals. Field event medals will be presented at the infield awards stand as soon as possible following the event's conclusion. Keaton must collect his medal personally. 3. Fan & Spectator Guide > Gates & Timing: On Saturday, June 6th, gates open to spectators at 9:30 a.m.. Ticket Information: General admission tickets cost $15.00 per person (plus applicable digital transaction fees). Tickets must be purchased digitally through Eventlink. There are no pass-outs (no re-entry) if you leave the facility. > Stadium Entrances: Spectators must enter through the main entrances (east or west gates) located directly off 86th Street. > Parking Logistics: Fans must park in the designated spectator lots near the main 86th Street entrances. Do not park in the transportation lot to the west, as it is strictly reserved for team vans and buses. Handicap parking is located near the food trucks just north of the track facility. > Stadium Restrictions & Prohibited Items: To ensure a smooth gate entry, avoid bringing the following prohibited items: * No tents or umbrellas are allowed in the spectator grandstands. * No signs or banners. * No glass bottles, cans, coolers, or alcoholic beverages are permitted inside the stadium. * No playing music without individual earphones/headphones. > Food & Souvenirs: Concessions and local food trucks will be operating on-site north and west of the track.
