Columbus East Boys Golf Places Sixth at Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament NORTH VERNON — The Columbus East boys golf team finished in sixth place at Tuesday's Hoosier Hills Conference tournament at St. Anne's Golf Course in North Vernon. The multi-team tournament was hosted by Jennings County High School. New Albany secured the conference team championship by carding a total score of 305. Floyd Central earned a runner-up finish with a team score of 314, followed closely by the host Jennings County Panthers, who claimed third place with a 330. Bedford North Lawrence recorded a team score of 342 to take fourth place, while Seymour finished fifth with a 348. The Columbus East Olympians finished sixth overall with a team score of 353, and Jeffersonville placed seventh with a total score of 425. Braxton Burton paced Columbus East individually, leading the lineup with a round of 81. Frank Phillips turned in an 87 for the Olympians, and Luke Rice added a 90 to the team score. Eddie Seaborne shot a 95 to complete the counting scores for Columbus East, while Ogden Crough finished the day carding a 97.
