The Columbus East softball team dropped a 13-3 decision at Greenfield-Central on Thursday in non-conference action. Columbus East finished with seven hits in the game. Taylor Wessel led the way, going 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, and two RBI. Ariel Darnell also recorded a multi-hit performance, finishing 2-for-3 at the plate. Thaise Jessup added a home run and drove in a run, while Baleigh Fish and Natasha Armstrong each contributed one hit. Armstrong and Wessel both scored a run, along with Jessup. In the circle, Jayley Smiley pitched five innings, recording four strikeouts. Karmen Davis worked two-thirds of an inning in relief. Columbus East scored once in the first inning and added two more runs in the sixth to account for its three runs on the night. Double-Dip: The Olympians will host the Mt. Vernon(Fortville) Marauders on Saturday, April 18th for a double-header matchup starting at 10 a.m. at Olympian Field. We're keeping an eye on the weather, keep your fingers crossed!
