Columbus East High School

The Columbus East girls tennis team hosted Shelbyville Tuesday evening (April 14) at the Olympian Tennis Complex, falling 4-1 in the team contest. The Olympians picked up their lone victory at No. 3 singles, where Bruna Carreira secured a 6-4, 6-2 win. At No. 1 singles, Lauren Degner was defeated 6-3, 6-1, while Olivia DeBarro pushed her match to three sets before falling 0-6, 7-6 (5), (10-7). In doubles play, the No. 1 team of Zoe White and Ava Tartt dropped a tight opening set in a 7-6 (5), 6-0 loss. At No. 2 doubles, Lilli Smith and Stefani Christopher were defeated 6-2, 6-1. The O's are back on the court Thursday, April 16th when they travel to Seymour, IN to face Hoosier Hills Conference opponent, the Seymour Owls.
