The Columbus East Varsity Olympians hosted the Jeffersonville Red Devils for a Hoosier Hills Conference matchup on Monday, April 13, 2026. On a clear evening at the Olympian Baseball Complex, the Olympians remained within striking distance for all seven innings but ultimately dropped a 4–2 decision to their conference rivals. Steady Contributions Across the Lineup While the box score showed a loss, several Olympians found ways to keep the pressure on the Jeffersonville defense throughout the night: > J.D. Rotert (#1) handled the bulk of the heavy lifting, pitching a complete 7.0-inning game. At the plate, he finished 2-for-3 with a double and a home run, accounting for both of the team's RBIs. > Reid Koester (#12) spent much of the night on the basepaths after being hit by a pitch in both the 1st and 6th innings. > Logun Rager (#3) reached base via a hit-by-pitch of his own and managed to swipe a stolen base during the contest. > Kaden Arnholt (#25), Paxton Thompson (#8), and Landyn Jewell (#10) also contributed to the team's six-hit total. A Missed Opportunity in the Seventh The game reached its most tense moment in the bottom of the 7th inning. Trailing by two and facing their final frame, the Olympians looked poised to make a run at a comeback: > Jewell led off the inning with a sharp single to give East a leadoff runner. > Ryker Stott (#9) followed with another single, quickly putting two men on base with no outs. With the tying runs on base and the heart of the order coming up, the momentum seemed to be shifting. However, the Jeffersonville pitching staff regrouped, recording three consecutive strikeouts to end the threat and leave both runners stranded.
