Olympians Sweep Singles to Secure First Win of Season Brown County H.S. - The Columbus East girls tennis team picked up its first victory of the young season Friday night, using a dominant performance in singles play to earn a 3-2 road win over Brown County. The Olympians (1-1) controlled the match from the top of the lineup, sweeping all three singles positions in convincing fashion. At No. 1 singles, Lauren Degner set the tone with a strong outing, cruising to a 6-1, 6-1 victory. Olivia Debarro followed with an equally impressive performance at No. 2 singles, allowing just one game in a 6-0, 6-1 win. Bruna Carriera delivered the clinching point at No. 3 singles, battling through a competitive first set before pulling away for a 7-5, 6-2 victory. While the Olympians came up short in doubles play, the early dominance in singles proved to be the difference and secured the team’s first win of the season. Columbus East will look to build on the win moving forward, with the singles lineup showing some early promise as the Olympians continue to develop this season.
