SEYMOUR H.S.- The Columbus East boys and girls track and field teams kicked off their 2026 season on Tuesday, April 7, with an official dual meet against Hoosier Hills Conference rival, the Seymour Owls, in Seymour, IN. While the Seymour Owls claimed victory in both team scores—82-50 for the boys and 101-31 for the girls—the Olympians showcased several standout individual performances and multiple first-place finishes. Boys Results: Strong Showing in Hurdles and Field Events: The Columbus East boys team earned 50 points, led by sophomore Henry Eickmeyer, who swept the hurdles events. Eickmeyer took first place in both the 110m hurdles (17.07) and the 300m hurdles (44.02). Other first-place finishers for the Olympians included: Norman Dickson (SO) in the 1600 meters with a time of 4:44.66. Deonte Study (SR) in the 400 meters, clocking in at 54.21. Luke Warren (SO) in the long jump with a mark of 19' 4". Ethan Glick (JR) in the pole vault, clearing 10' 6". The Olympians also saw strong second-place efforts from Elijah Clore (SR) in the 3200m (11:44.02), Keegan Fields (SR) in the long jump (18' 9"), and Evan Simo (SR) in both the shot put (39' 1.5") and discus (126' 3"). Freshman Robby Orgass added a second-place finish in the high jump with a leap of 5' 4". Girls Results: Scott and Throwers Lead the Way: The girls team finished with 31 points, highlighted by a dominant performance from senior Kai Scott, who secured top honors in both hurdle events. Scott won the 100m hurdles in 17.47 and the 300m hurdles in 50.35. The Columbus East throwers also found success, with two Olympians taking first in their respective events: Sophia Gallion (JR) won the shot put with a throw of 30' 6.75". Jocelyn Vogel (FR) claimed first in the discus with a mark of 70' 3". Additional podium finishes for the girls included Claire Behnke (JR), who took second in the 200m (28.36) and third in the 100m (13.57), and Sophie Glick (SR), who placed second in the 400m (1:07.07) and third in the high jump (4' 4"). Isabella Leonard (SO) added a second-place finish in the shot put (30' 6.25"), while freshman Emma Tempest took second in the high jump (4' 4") and third in the 300m hurdles (57.70).
