The Columbus East Olympians didn’t ease into the win column—they kicked the door down. Behind a dominant outing from Peyton Asher and a relentless offensive surge, East rolled to an 18-1 home victory over Indianapolis Arsenal Tech, securing its first win of the season in emphatic fashion. Asher set the tone from the start. The right-hander was in complete control on the mound, striking out 10 batters over five innings while allowing just one run on five hits. He didn’t issue a single walk, consistently attacking the zone and forcing Arsenal Tech hitters to play from behind all night. But the story of the game was the first inning—an avalanche that buried the visitors before they could settle in. The Olympians exploded for 14 runs in the opening frame, sending wave after wave of hitters to the plate. Jacob Huffman jump-started the rally with a double, while Reid Koester and Landyn Jewell delivered key extra-base hits that cracked the game wide open. Logun Rager did serious damage from the lower half of the lineup, driving in four runs, while Emmett Harden, Bige Asher, and others kept the line moving in a relentless stretch of offense. By the time the dust settled, East had turned the game into a runaway before Arsenal Tech could record the third out. The Olympians didn’t let up. They added another run in the third and tacked on three more in the fourth, capitalizing on both timely hitting and defensive miscues to push the lead to 18-0. At the plate, East pounded out 14 hits with production up and down the lineup. Huffman, Koester, Harden, Bige Asher, Jewell, and Rager each collected multiple hits, showcasing a balanced attack that never gave Arsenal Tech a chance to regroup. Huffman and Koester each drove in three runs, while Jewell added two RBIs of his own. JD Rotert also made an impact on the basepaths, swiping two bases and helping keep pressure on the defense throughout the night. Defensively, East backed up its pitching effort by throwing strikes early and often. Olympian pitchers opened at-bats with a first-pitch strike to 15 of 19 hitters, setting the tone for quick, efficient innings and limiting any opportunity for Arsenal Tech to build momentum. Simply put, this was a complete performance. After a tough start to the season, the Olympians didn’t just find a win—they found an identity built on attacking early, applying pressure, and refusing to let up. Now, East will look to carry that momentum on the they face Indianapolis Lutheran in their next contest. This game originally scheduled to be played at Lutheran, has now been moved to Columbus East. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at noon on Saturday, April 4th at Olympian Field.
