Here is how our athletes move on to the IHSAA State Finals: For Swimmers An Olympian can qualify for State in one of three ways: Win the Event: First-place finishers in the Sectional automatically advance. Hit the Time: Any swimmer who meets or beats the State Time Standard during the consolation or championship finals. The "Next 32" Rule: After all automatic qualifiers are placed, the IHSAA fills the remaining lanes until there are 32 competitors per event statewide based on the next fastest times. For Divers The path for diving includes an extra step: Sectionals: Finish in the Top 4 to advance to the Diving Regional. Regionals: Finish in the Top 8 at Regionals to punch a ticket to the State Finals. Follow the Action Can’t make it to the pool?
