Patterson Leads Way with 23; Olympians Fall to #11 New Albany

NEW ALBANY, Ind. — The Columbus East Olympians faced a tall task on Saturday afternoon, traveling south to take on the Class 4A #11(IBCA) (#8 Sagarin) ranked New Albany Bulldogs. The Olympians couldn't slow down the high-powered Bulldog offense, dropping the Hoosier Hills Conference matchup 81-55. Varsity: New Albany 81, Columbus East 55 New Albany showcased why they are one of the state's ranked teams, controlling the tempo and scoring efficiently to secure the win on their home court. Despite the final score, senior Carter Patterson put together a strong individual performance for Columbus East. Patterson led all scorers with a game-high 23 points, shouldering the load for the Olympian offense against a tough defense. East found balanced scoring elsewhere in the lineup. Keaton Lawson and Logan Neal each finished with 7 points, while Graham Preizer tallied 6 points. Judah Lewis added 4 points to the effort. Sophomore Kam Robertson was the bright spot for the offense, pacing the team with 13 points. Freshman Ridge Koester added 9 points, and Jacob Thomas finished with 7 points.
