COLUMBUS, IN – The Columbus East High School Athletic Department is proud to announce that five members of the Girls Wrestling team have earned prestigious academic honors following the 2025-2026 season. The Indiana High School Girls Wrestling Coaches Association (IHSGWCA) has named five Olympians to the Academic All-State First Team. This award recognizes student-athletes who have demonstrated exceptional balance, maintaining high academic standards while competing at the varsity level. The following student-athletes received First Team honors: Junior Class: Tienica Dits, Issabel Wakefield Sophomore Class: Abby Morales, Kaydence Spradlin, Kyleigh Traylor "Earning a spot on the First Team Academic All-State list is a testament to the discipline these young women possess," the Athletic Department said in a statement. "To compete in a sport as physically demanding as wrestling while maintaining top-tier grades is a massive accomplishment." Congratulations to all five wrestlers for representing Columbus East with excellence in the classroom and on the mat.
