The Columbus East gymnastics team welcomed (sorry- Away meet for the Olympians, my apologies) the Franklin Central Flashes on Tuesday night, and while the Olympians were unable to post a team score due to limited numbers, they delivered several strong individual performances. Bethany Lewis continued her standout season by capturing the all-around title with a score of 35.0. Lewis set the tone early and never let up, taking first place on the vault (8.975), balance beam (8.55), and floor exercise (9.225). She also turned in a solid runner-up finish on the uneven bars with an 8.25, showcasing her consistency across all four events. Ava Luedeke also represented the Olympians well, finishing the night with a 25.65 in the all-around and adding valuable experience in a competitive meet environment. Despite not fielding enough athletes for a team total, Columbus East made the most of the opportunity, highlighted by Lewis’s dominant all-around performance and continued growth from the Olympians’ lineup.
