The Columbus East competition cheer team will take the national stage on Saturday, January 31, 2026, as the Olympians compete at the inaugural Division II National School Spirit Championships at Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Florida. The DII National School Spirit Championships are designed for high schools with enrollments of 1,399 students or fewer and bring together cheer, dance, and band programs from across the country. In addition to traditional performances, the event features Spirit Program Game Day divisions, which emphasize authentic crowd engagement, precision, and the ability to recreate the energy of a live athletic environment. Columbus East Competition Details Division / Category: Small NT DII — Game Day “A” Prelims Check-in: 7:55 AM Warm-up: 8:05 AM Performance Time: 8:40 AM Date: Saturday, January 31, 2026 Game Day routines are judged on timing, transitions, motion technique, and the overall ability to lead and energize a crowd while maintaining clean execution. With this being the first year of the DII National School Spirit Championships, teams will be looking to establish the standard at a national-level event in a premier setting. How to Follow the Event The championships will be streamed live on Varsity TV, with schedules and results available through Varsity’s official platforms throughout the weekend. Columbus East will compete early in the day, making focus and efficiency critical. A sharp, confident performance that balances energy with control will give the Olympians a strong opportunity to stand out on the national stage.
