The Columbus East H2O’s were back in action Tuesday night at the Olympian Swim Complex, hosting East Central and Trinity Lutheran in a challenging double dual meet. On the boys side, the Olympians delivered a mixed night of results. East earned a decisive win over Trinity Lutheran while coming up just short against a strong East Central squad. Several Olympians turned in standout performances, showing both depth and top-end speed in the pool. Mason Bean led the way with a pair of individual victories, sweeping the sprint freestyle events. Josh Pendleton also had a big night, claiming wins in both the butterfly and distance freestyle. Alex Stilson added another individual win in the backstroke, and the Olympians closed strong in the 400 freestyle relay as Bean, Pendleton, Ryan Turner, and Stilson combined for a first-place finish. Additional points came from strong runner-up efforts, including Stilson in the 200 freestyle and Micah Wettschurack in the breaststroke, helping East stay competitive throughout the evening. The girls team faced an uphill battle with a limited roster, competing with just two swimmers against full lineups from East Central and Trinity Lutheran. Despite the numbers, the Olympians continued to race hard and gain valuable experience. Baylee Benefield competed in both the freestyle and breaststroke events, while Savannah Burton represented East in the sprint freestyle. Both swimmers fought through deep fields and stayed committed through the final touch, embodying the resilience of the program. While the scoreboard favored the visitors, the night still served as an important step forward for the Olympians as they continue building toward the heart of the season.
