The Columbus East Olympian girls wrestling team turned in a strong postseason showing Friday at the 2026 IHSAA Girls Wrestling Sectional hosted by Indian Creek High School, finishing fourth overall with 137.5 points in a highly competitive field. Columbus East trailed only Whiteland (295), Franklin Community (177.5), and Bloomington South (151.5), while holding off several challengers to remain firmly among the sectional’s top programs. Under IHSAA postseason format, the top four finishers in each weight class earn advancement to the regional tournament, and the Olympians made sure their presence will continue beyond the sectional round by placing multiple wrestlers on the podium. Leading the way were sectional runner-up finishes from Tienica Dits (105), Gloria Cloud (120), and Annabelle Redman (170), each securing regional qualification with strong runs through their brackets. Columbus East added valuable depth with several additional regional qualifiers: Issabel Wakefield placed 3rd at 155 (16.5 points) Kyleigh Traylor finished 3rd at 190 (18 points) Kaydence Spradlin earned 4th at 235 (14 points) Abby Morales placed 4th at 100 Additional podium finishes included Breylin Rodriguez (5th, 115) and Luci Morales (5th, 130), rounding out a productive day for the Olympians despite several open weights. With multiple wrestlers advancing and a fourth-place team finish against top competition, Columbus East proved it remains a force in the IHSAA girls wrestling postseason—and the Olympians will carry that momentum into the regional round.
