Olympians Turn in Strong Individual Swims in Crosstown Meet at Home Pool The Columbus East girls and boys swim teams welcomed cross-town rival Columbus North to the Olympian Swimming Complex on Tuesday night, using the meet as another step forward in development and competitive growth. On the boys side, East delivered a productive evening highlighted by multiple event victories and several standout performances. The Olympians captured seven of the eight individual races and one relay, led by three double winners. Mason Bean claimed first place in both the 200 freestyle (2:04.83) and 500 freestyle (5:55.45), showing consistency and endurance in the middle- and distance events. Ryan Turner sprinted to victories in the 50 freestyle (25.92) and 100 freestyle (1:00.13), while Josh Pendleton topped the field in the 200 individual medley (2:02.87) and the 100 butterfly (54.40). Additional individual wins came from Alex Stilson in the 100 backstroke (1:04.70), and the Olympians closed the night on a high note by winning the 400 freestyle relay behind Turner, Stilson, Bean, and Pendleton with a time of 3:44.35. Despite strong finishes at the top of events, East was challenged by depth across the lineup, which ultimately impacted the overall team score. Still, the meet featured competitive swims throughout the roster, with several athletes contributing season-best efforts. The East girls competed with a limited lineup but continued to show steady progress. Savannah Burton recorded third-place finishes in both the 200 freestyle (2:49.10) and 100 backstroke (1:23.76), while Baylee Benefield placed third in the 50 freestyle (32.49) and 100 breaststroke (1:41.25). Both swimmers maintained consistent pacing and effort across multiple events. The Olympians also competed without divers on Tuesday, as East’s divers are still working toward completing their required lists. Columbus East now turns its attention forward, building on individual improvements and continued development as the season moves on. The Columbus East H2O's girls and boys now turn their attention to December 20th, were they host Hoosier Hills Conference opponent, the New Albany Bulldogs. Meet start time: 10 a.m.
