Olympians Roll to First Win, Crush Southwestern Hanover 65–13 The Columbus East boys JV basketball team finally got the breakthrough they’d been chasing, and they delivered it with authority. Hosting Southwestern Hanover in a Saturday evening showdown inside the Orange Pit, the JV Olympians blasted past the Rebels 65–13 to notch their first win of the season and even their record at 1–1. From the opening tip, East left no doubt. Their defense was suffocating, setting the tone with relentless pressure. Caden Goodlow spearheaded the havoc, and the team piled up 23 steals on the night. Jacob Thomas and Ridge Koester each swiped five, while Kam Robertson controlled the glass with seven rebounds. Southwest Hanover struggled to even get attempts at the rim, let alone points. On the other end, East was every bit as sharp. The O’s stormed out to a 21–4 first-quarter lead and stretched it to 37–10 by halftime. The best part? Every Olympian who stepped on the court scored. Koester paced the attack with 11 points, followed closely by Carson Siegilin’s 10 and Miles Broadus’ 9. The JV O’s aim to build on this momentum next weekend. They head to Bedford to take on the Stars on Friday, Dec. 12, before returning home to meet the Franklin Grizzly Cubs on Saturday, Dec. 13. Scoring Summary Ridge Koester – 11 Carson Siegilin – 10 Miles Broadus – 9 Caden Goodlow – 8 Kam Robertson – 7 Josiah Shelton – 6 Hudson Ley – 6 Connor Rodarte – 4 Jacob Thomas – 2 Zane Williams – 2
